Venus will be going retrograde on March 6, 2009 at 12:13 pm EST at 15 degrees 26 minutes of Aries. It goes direct on April 17, 2009 at 3:24 pm EDT at 29 degrees 12 minutes of Pisces.

Venus is the mythological goddess of love, ruling all relationships: romantic, platonic, aesthetic and diplomatic. Its goal is to beautify, harmonize and soften. Without Venus our civilization would not have progressed much beyond the caveman era. It surely would have less refinement and more crudity.

During its retrograde period, things Venus influences are less apparent and somewhat diminished in the world. Noticeably diminished is the importance of our visual sensibilities. Wearing shades of purple, and the more spring like violet can also harmonize the energy. Once it moves into Pisces the station of Venus should begin to take effect. This softens the energy making people more open and aesthetically inclined. Although still retrograde the energy is beginning to shift and plans can be made to activate those Venus related activities such as getting your hair cut, having a party, formalizing a personal relationship, and actually doing those things when it goes direct.

Individuals born while Venus is retrograde seek an internal relationship with beauty and harmony. Upon selecting jewelry their choice will be based more upon the piece’s symbolic importance as opposed to the way it looks.
