Classroom Background

From 1969 to 1976, Ed Haggerty taught AP English and English, grades 8–12, in academic and college preparatory schools in the Crown Heights, Bedford–Stuyvesant, and Fort Greene sections of Brooklyn, New York.

    Schools include Bishop Loughlin High School, the experimental New High School, Yeshivah Magen David, and his alma mater, Brooklyn Prep.


In Daily Contact with Schools

Ed is in daily contact with public education through his wife, who teaches in a Brooklyn public school, and his son, who attends one.

    Ed has visited elementary classrooms across the United States as part of the planning and market research stages of the programs he developed while he was Editorial Director at Macmillan and Scholastic.
